Wedding Anniversary: A Fresh Script Font for Business Branding

A Real Design Moment: Upgrading Our Bakery Packaging

Just last month, I was helping a local bakery refresh their packaging. They wanted to feel more elegant and consistent across their boxes, thank-you tags, and Instagram posts. After testing a few script fonts, we landed on Wedding Anniversary. From the first proof, it was clear this font had a unique charm that elevated the brand without feeling overdone.

Wedding Anniversary is a clean, modern script with a soft handwritten feel. It’s not too bold, not too delicate—just right for small businesses that want to look polished without losing a personal touch. The letterforms flow smoothly, with slight texture and variation that adds warmth without distracting from the message.

Why Typography Matters for Small Business Branding

Typography is more than just picking a pretty font. It shapes how customers perceive your brand. A good typeface builds trust, improves readability, and supports visual consistency across print and digital materials. Wedding Anniversary delivers on all fronts, especially for brands that lean into soft, romantic, or artisan aesthetics.

When we applied Wedding Anniversary to the bakery’s thank-you tags and product labels, it immediately gave a boutique-level finish. The same font worked beautifully on their Instagram story templates and website banners. It wasn’t just about looking good—it was about looking intentional.

Where Wedding Anniversary Shines in Brand Materials

This font works best in short-form, high-impact uses. Think logos, packaging titles, social media headers, and greeting cards. It’s not ideal for long paragraphs, but that’s exactly what makes it perfect for branding touches that need to stand out.

We used it for the bakery’s new cupcake box labels and online menu headers. It paired beautifully with a simple sans serif for supporting text, creating a balanced, professional look without the need for complex design skills.

Readability Tips for Real-World Use

While Wedding Anniversary is highly legible at larger sizes, it’s important to test it at smaller scales—especially for packaging or mobile screens. We found that using it at 12pt or larger kept the details crisp in printed materials. For digital use, making sure there’s enough contrast between the font and background helped maintain clarity on thumbnails and banners.

When designing for small product tags or stickers, consider using Wedding Anniversary for just the product name or brand, and a simpler font for descriptions or ingredients. This keeps the design clean and easy to read at a glance.

Font Pairing Made Simple

One of the biggest questions I get from small business owners is how to pair fonts effectively. Wedding Anniversary is very cooperative in that department. Since it’s a script font with a bit of texture, pairing it with a clean sans serif like Montserrat or Lato keeps the design modern and grounded.

For more formal branding, like a luxury candle brand or boutique skincare line, pairing it with an elegant serif like Playfair Display adds sophistication. The key is to let Wedding Anniversary be the star—keep supporting fonts simple and well-spaced to avoid visual clutter.

What to Check Before Using Wedding Anniversary

Before using Wedding Anniversary in your branding, always verify the font license. It’s a commercial font, so it can be used in product designs, packaging, and marketing materials. However, if you're creating templates for clients or resale, make sure the license allows for that usage.

Also, check what font files are included—OTF and TTF are standard and work across most design platforms. Wedding Anniversary includes ligatures and alternate characters, which add subtle customization without needing advanced design tools. Multilingual support is also a plus if your audience is global or if your brand name includes special characters.
